Gem Dig & Sort Light Panel Collection
Can you sort all the gem you find hidden in the sand? This is such a fun and easy light panel invitation that allows children to practice all their sorting and fine motor skills!
To create your gem dig lay place a light panel cover on your light panel and then gently pour a layer of sand over it. Take your translucent rainbow gems and place them in the tray and gently sift the light panel cover back and forth to gently cover them in sand. Then place sorting cups with matching coloured tweezers around the light panel to encourage them to sort all the gems as they discover them hidden in the sand.
Ways to extend the play:
-Can you colour match all the gems you find on the sand?
-How many ways can you short the gems? By size? type? colour?
-How many gems of each colour are there?
-Can you create gem and colour patterns?
