The Scholar's Choice Training Academy (SCTA) is a professional continuing education academy based in London Ontario for Teachers, Early Years Educators, Parents, and Grandparents. We deliver engaging, live or online training sessions, and provide a face to face experience with our highly recognized and talented instructors and special guests.
Our training sessions cover a wide range of topics intended to help children achieve their hopes and dreams by developing their love for learning. This includes basic first interactions of play to more in depth play based learning concepts.

The Science of Reading is not just a fad, a new concept, a program, an intervention, or a product you can buy. So, what the heck is it? Join me on November 22nd and we'll take a look at the Science of Reading - the vast interdisciplinary body of scientifically-based research that has shown us exactly how the brain learns to read. We will learn about the Big 6 and a few ways that we can implement these critical skills through PLAY.

Hanna Stroud, Literacy Tutor and Consultant
Hanna has operated a private tutor and consulting company called My Literacy Space since 2008 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She provides one-on-one tutoring sessions with a focus on structured literacy. Along with being a National Trainer for Reading With TLC, Hanna provides workshops and webinars for public and private school boards, homeschool groups and online presentations to support collaborations with educational companies. Using a multisensory approach to engage and motivate, invite exploration and explicitly teach skills, Hanna partners children’s picture books with coordinating activities to encourage language and literacy goals with children of all ages. Including play-based learning activities in day-to-day interactions, children experience an increase in confidence, curiosity and foundational knowledge of language.
