Seasonal sets offer an easy, affordable solution for giving your classroom a fresh look. Create the perfect Halloween scene with spook-tacular decor. This Halloween mini bulletin board set from Carson Dellosa offers a variety of cute and creepy accents to help decorate your classroom in a way that celebrates the season. The included resource guide gives you 9 different lesson plan ideas. Talk about getting your money's worth!

Here are our 3 favourite ideas for using this mini bulletin board set in math lessons:

Pumpkin Measurements- Primary

Weigh a small pumpkin and find its circumference (you will need yarn to calculate the circumference). Record the measurement. Then, ask students to estimate how many seeds are inside the pumpkin. Give each student a scoop of pulp and let him count the seeds. Add together all of the students’ counts. Give a reward to the student whose estimate was the closest. Take pictures of this activity and display them, along with the Halloween mini bulletin board decor on a bulletin board in your classroom.

Math Treats- Junior

Fill a plastic container with a favorite treat. Pass the container around the room and ask students to look at it carefully and estimate the number of treats in the container. Let each student write her name and estimate on a scrap of paper. Collect the scraps of paper and count the treats. Give a special treat to the student who has the most accurate estimate. Display the scraps of paper, along with the Halloween mini bulletin board decor on a bulletin board in your classroom.

Math Matching- Junior/Intermediate

Create a math matching game. Make several copies of the ghost and pumpkin patterns from the provided resource guide. Write math problems on the ghost patterns and the answers on the pumpkin patterns. Display the problems with the Halloween Mini Bulletin Board. Then, have students match the answers to the problems.
